Will Hill and Hollywood Cole Fuse Bicoastal Sound on Atlantafornia Album

February 24, 2020 - Will Hill’s third studio album Atlantafornia seamlessly blends the carefree and luxurious west coast vibes with a down south bop for a deep dive into the 27-year-old’s life.

The independent rapper and businessman believes the 7-track album spanning 18 minutes is his most complete project to date.

“Putting a new piece of art out and believing in it so much and just having the feeling that my life is about to change for the better, whether it be a small change or a big change, I’m excited,” said Hill following his album release/birthday party at Zari Café in Atlanta.

Hill began his rap journey in 2010 and has since released two EP’s and three albums.

“I’m a project artist, I like making projects, I don’t like making singles” said Hill adding, “A project really feels like you can get to know me as a person, a single just gives you a very small scope of who I am.”

Hill rolled out Atlantafornia by releasing single “Winter Tires” with accompanying music video in January.

Atlantafornia is executively produced by Hollywood Cole. The Seattle-born producer, who has produced for Dom Kennedy and Quentin Miller, said the goal of the album was to “make bops to make people move and dance.”

Despite the plethora of bangers, Cole says his favorite track on the project is “Go” because, “Will got real personal on that track.”

Both Hill and Cole have ties from the “Bay 2 The A” and set out to create a sound that transcends the distance between the two.

When asked what separates him from every other aspiring rapper, Hill highlighted his business acumen.

“We learned a lot early because we tried a lot early,” said Hill on track six “Not an Accident”.

The Georgia State University graduate founded clothing brand Thisisill and co-founded lifestyle brand Atlantafornia during his time in school. He prides himself on being someone he would want to conduct business with.

“I’m not in it for the clout, I’m not in it for the fame… I’m here to express myself,” said Hill proclaiming, “I’m tryna make some money, I’m tryna put you on game, and I’m tryna build… anybody that wants to build, make money or put themselves on, come fuck with me.”

Atlantafornia is available on all streaming platforms. You can purchase a digital download and the collectors edition physical CD on thisisill.us
