Meet Epic, the “Extraordinary Pioneer Inspiring Culture.”

The 29-year old Brooklyn born Hip-hop artist, mental health coordinator and life coach says his purpose is to “love, help and inspire.”

We met April 2018 while I was spinning’ records, connected on social media and have been following each others journey ever since.

Epic visited Atlanta for a baby shower in July and was persistent on linking up while in town.

I scooped him up for brunch and we drove around the city building upon life, music, and staying driven towards our goals.

“It’s good to just have alliances in every city you go to.”

“They say it takes 10 years to get that 1 year you been waiting for and I feel like it takes 15, 20,” said Epic, referencing the 10 years he’s been recording music and evolving as a man. His debut album “Stepping Stones” released May 2018, displaying his raw authentic rhymes focused on empowering people with lyricism, delivery and cadence.

“People say they got punchlines, I got lifelines.”

Inspired by Tupac Shakur, Malcom X and his mother, Epic is dedicated to helping others activate that genius inside of them.

Throughout his 20’s, he’s broadened his reach by focusing on mental health. “Mental health is real, don’t let it be overlooked in your community.”

Epic invest into his community by hosting therapy sessions and throwing “We all we got” block parties in his hometown of Brooklyn.

“Keep betting on yourself, a lot of people are going to count you out, count yourself in, please.”

- ETHER EPIC

He’s created safe spaces where people can express themselves freely, relate and champion one another.

“I’m not a philanthopist, i’m not a psychologist, i’m not a therapist, I’m just a visionary. I just want to help.”

Despite always striving to lend a helping hand, Epic acknowledges his own hardships growing up in the projects.

“We all struggling but ain’t nobody posting the failures. Everybody posting the finished product.”

He decided to parlay his struggle into his brand, STAYDRIVEN.

“It’s a lifestyle brand. We focus on putting out content to procure inspiration... It’s all about staying driven.”

As Co Founder and creative director, Epic’s merchandise centers on reminding others that, “Through all the roadblocks, through all the setbacks, Stay in pursuit of what makes you happy, stay in pursuit of your goals, stay relentless with your why.”

Between his music, brand and advocacy, Epic has invested his all into what he believes.

“I love this shit, I love the hiccups, I love the bruises, I love the scars because I can sit back and talk about it. I’m smiling, thank God I don’t look like what I’ve been through.

Following Chicken n Waffles and Shrimp n Grits at brunch, we drove downtown along Peachtree Street. I asked him for his final thoughts before we parted ways.

“Keep betting on yourself, a lot of people are going to count you out, count yourself in please.”
